Exotic hardwoods make interesting and often beautiful wood flooring.  These are woods that come from all over the world, or woods that are native to North America and not often used in flooring.  Examples include Patagonian Rosewood, Indonesian Teak, Brazilian Koa, Brazilian Cherry, Honduran Mahogany, American Walnut and American Hickory, among others. These woods cost a little more and some require time to order. They provide an exotic look in addition to increased durability, as is the case with Brazilian Walnut and Honduran Mahogany, or a distinctive pleasant aroma, as is the case with Rosewood.  These woods can also be incorporated into a design within the floor, mixing with other woods to provide a pattern, or define an area within an expansive room.
